GRIFFITH NOTES: "The Aussie Ruler" August 5, 1973 - No.15

By Swan: Last week's games are best forgotten, even though we did manage to win in all three grades.

All games were highlighted with no highlights, with both teams in their respective grades struggling to do something constructive. The Firsts did not display the form that put them on top of the ladder.

However, Ralph (Tootsy) Todd, Terry (Boobs) Bennett, Phillip (Stench) Smith and Sid (Soddly) Robins stood out on the day - and the Griffith Co-op shirt was won by none other than Bob (Puff Pant Pancreas) Patterson.

The Seconds had another runaway victory and were little troubled against the depleted Ardlethan side. Best players were Denis (Tango) Tyndall, Phil (Bottens Up) Botten, Jeff (Epidoodle) Evans and Ivan (Harrow) Nancarrow.

The Thirds completed the trio of wins with an easy victory over the Ardlethan side. Barry (Nippie) Northeast destroyed the defence with a dazzling six goals. Ian (Wilting) Wood, Mick (Ogre) O'Brien and Don (Carroway) Coleman also played well.

Once again, players and supporters the Club's Ball is on 10th August - Book now at Bob Carroll's Menswear.
