GRIFFITH NOTES: "The Aussie Ruler" August 12, 1973 - No.16 

By Swan: Supporters are advised that the Griffith Club are at present conducting a Cruise Raffle to finance legal expenses incurred earlier this season.

The cruise includes air fares to and from Sydney for two people, overnight accommodation and eleven days on the fabulous Oriana, departing Sydney on January 14th and visiting Tongo, Samoa and Suva, with your own cabin and private facilities - total cost of the trip is valued at $1250. Tickets are $5 each and are available from the committee member or any player. Drawing will take place at the club's annual dinner in November - wouldn't it be lovely to win?

Come on folk, we need your help in a big way for this one and who knows, you might be the lucky ones to be cruising the wonderful South Seas next January - and a great second honeymoon.

On the social scene - a great time was had by all at the Club Ball last Friday night. Not a huge crowd by all means but a very happy one. Bob Spears won the Belle of the Ball competition - looked very snazzy in the new gear - all the chaps were envious. The ladies provided a great supper, and our appreciations goes to them.
