GRIFFITH NOTES: "The Aussie Ruler" August 26, 1973 - No.18

By Swan: It was a hard-fought battle at Grong Grong last week in very cold and blustery condition.

The game itself was an excellent conditioner for the forthcoming finals.

The Griffith Co-op shirt award went to none other than (Sexy) Sid Robins for his dire effort in defence.

Sid also takes the limelight today, as he is playing 200th game for the Swans - Sid has played 200 games and kicked one goal - tremendous effort.

Others to play well last Sunday were Martin (Jacaranda) Jackson, Bob (Paddle-Pop) Patterson, Ralph (Trollop) Todd, Phillip (Satchmo) Smith and Ralph (Randolpheous) Robins.

The Seconds continued on their merry winning spree and played well enough to win.

The unknown player in No. 33 was later identified as being Mopsy Hall - with a haircut. Well done, Mopo!

Bill (Bip-Bop-Bump-Bash Biron, Neville (Bonito) and Stephen (Bronchitis) Brand, Warwick (Crocodile) Collis and Roy (Rickitty) Agresta also played well.

The Thirds nearly caused an upset against Narrandera. They will undoubtedly perform better against them in the finals.

No further notes issued for the remainder of 1973 season.
