GRIFFITH NOTES: "Riverina Football Record" September 4, 1994 - No. 21

The final game of the home and away series. One of the few good things to come out of our trip to Robertson Oval was the win by our netballers, which enabled them to finish second on the ladder. A magnificent turnaround from last season. Congratulations and all the best for the finals. The Under 18's result was a disappointment. A lack of discipline caused a winning margin to evaporate. A side with as much talent as shown throughout the season shouldn't have gone out of the finals in such a manner. Better players were Matty Kenny, Simon Taylor, Malcolm Burke, Craig Browne and Wayne Donetto.

The Seconds did it hard, particularly the Under 18's players who played to make up the numbers. Coach O'Bryan would be glad to see the end of a disappointing season. Better players were Mark O'Bryan, Darrell Collins, 'Millsy, Scott Wade and Brett 'General' McAlister.

The Firsts didn't play well as a team, although some individuals continued to give all, all game. Brett 'Swampy' Davis, and the incentive award winners Tim 'Legend' Fraser, Graham 'Axle' Foley, David 'Itch' Eichler and Greg 'Splash' Collins were the better players. The game is gone, now we have to regroup for the finals against the Bulldogs.

On a brighter note (considering the day) the vote count was held on Sunday arvo. A good crowd saw Craig Browne win the Under 18's in a close tussle with Matty Kenny, Mal Burke and Glen Vaccari. Ritchie Telfer from Ron Irvin in the Seconds. Louise Hill (B Grade) and Peta Bennett from Karen Evans and Nicole Hathaway in the A Grade netball; and Brett Davis from David Eichler in the Firsts. Congratulations to all.

Reminder that King Billy Cokebottle's on Sept 16 at the Exies; the Auction is coming up soon, and the Presentation Ball is on October 7. Best of luck to all those in the finals.
