GRIFFITH NOTES: "Riverina Football Record" July 1, 1995 - No. 12

After another combined senior & junior football day it's certainly to become an excepted way of running football. It allows the day to be a real family affair.
The Under 18's had a very commanding win over Narrandera and allows them the opportunity to cement themselves in the final five this week against Temora. Best players were Bill Furner, Brent Harrison, Matt Olney, Kane Duncan and Norm Campbell with the incentive awards going to Matt Onley $20, Glen Vaccari $15 and Gavin Simpkin $10.
The 2nds again stood back for a quarter waiting for something to happen. Well, it did. Narrandera slammed on 6 goals to nothing, after that the side outscored the Eagles in the last three quarters to prove they can match it with the top sides. Best players and incentive award winners were Andrew McCashney $30, Dom Norman $20, Christian Files $10, players' player to Craig Bretherton, and the Mug to Ian Geddes with Brent Hathaway getting the coaches award.
Well, it was great to see the Seniors really turn it on against Narrandera doing all those important things that good sides do. With a solid defence and functioning forward line all it need was some prime movers to play well which they did, it's given the side the right preparation for today's game. The incentive awards (sponsored by Ralph Savage and RTA Plumbers) went to Tony Butcher $100, Dean McGowan $50, Owen Gedddes $30, Greg Dreyer $20, with the players' player going to Matt Cox.
This week it is new opposition in Temora, so let's show them what we've got!
