GRIFFITH NOTES: "Riverina Football Record" August 3, 1996 - No. 17

Whilst the rain held off, conditions were very heavy, and a real slog ensured. We started well and went into the long break with a good lead and went on from there. The award winners were $100 to Michael "The Water Rat" Smith, $50 to Adam "Wind the window up and enjoy the scenery" Baulch, $30 to Brent "Nike" Harrison, and $20 to Mark "Hard Yakka" Brown. The players' player award went to Adam Baulch.
The Reserves had a big win in heavy conditions. The awards were $30 to Michael "When was the last time you were home for tea" Reid, $20 Brent "Tech tonight" Hathaway, and $10 to Steven Serafin. The players' player was won by Glen "Ding Dong" Collis and the Mugs' Mug to David Gee.
The Under 18's battled hard but were not strong enough. Best players were Rodney Duncan, Paul Kite, Dwayne Ashcroft, Matthew Reid and Stuart Davies.
There was no Netball due to the inclement weather. On the Social scene there is a Trivia Night at Exies Sports Club tonight 8pm. $5 entry with tables of 8 per team and plenty of prizes.
This week's Player Profile is on Greg Dreyer.
Nicknames: Fifty, Grumpy. Favourite Pastime: Back chatting coaches, playing league. Most Admired Sportsperson: Steve Cochrane. Biggest Asset: No comment.
