GRIFFITH NOTES: "Riverina Football Record" August 9, 1998 - No. 17

AFTER a terrific first half against Narrandera where the players played some great football, Griffith went on to record a very good win. It was a top four quarter and if we can continue to play with that level of intensity the positive results will come our way.

The awards were sponsored by Brian Hammond and the Seniors, Ex-Servicemen's Club award was won by Tony "The Bulldog" Butcher, the Billabong Bottle Shop award was won by Frank "Verandah top" Matthews, the Prendy's BP award was won by Daniel "Felix Unger" Tuohey, and the Lowes Award was won by Matthew "Smiley" Olney. The McDonalds / Griffith Coaches award was won by Greg "Grumpy" Dreyer.
The Reserves battled hard but were defeated. The awards were $30 and the Players' Player Mug to Jason "Big is Beautiful" Maskell, $20 to Justin "The Big Oaf" Samson, and $10 to Matthew "Ribs on the Run" Kenny. The McDonalds / Griffith Coaches award was won by Andrew "The Veteran" McCashney.
The Under 18's had a good win and played some top football. I believe the awards were $15 to Paul Kite, $10 to Michael Johns and $5 to Matthew Flagg. Condolences from everyone at the club to Peter Hunt on the passing of his grandmother.
Tonight, we have a Trivia Night at the Exies Sports Club starting at about 7.30pm. It is $5 per head entry with tables of six and plenty of prizes to be won.

This week's awards against Coolamon are sponsored by JK Signs and we thank John Kupsch for that.
