 GRIFFITH NOTES: "Riverina Football Record" May 16, 1998 - No. 5 

ON what was obviously a bad day result wise for the Club we were convincingly defeated in all three grades by a very well prepared Turvey Park opposition. The Seniors were outplayed in the first and last quarters and subsequently were well beaten. The game was sponsored by Vaccari's Bakery and the awards were as follows: The Dinner for Two at the Griffith Ex-Servicemen's Club was won by Tony 'Golly' Mahar, the Billabong Bottle Shop award was won by Phil 'Rowdy' Rowston, the Prendy's BP award was won by Frank 'Telstra' and the Lowes award was won by Glen 'Fidge' Vaccari.
The Reserves struggled after quarter time and were soundly defeated. The awards were: The Players' Player Mug to Jason 'Spider' Magoci, $30 to Jason 'The Shark' Maskell, $20 to Owen 'Big O' Brown, and $10 to Mark 'Plugger' McCormack.
The Under 18's battled hard but could not bridge the gap after being well behind early. The awards were $15 to Marc Forster, $10 to Nick Maloni, and $5 to Rodney Simpkin. The Netballers were defeated 81 to 21.
