 GRIFFITH NOTES: "Riverina Football Record" August 16, 1998 - No. 18 

IN good conditions for football Griffith recorded a percentage boosting win over Coolamon despite several lapses during the game. We will not be able to afford to have these lapses during the games over the next few weeks as we meet the better performing teams in the comp.

The awards were sponsored by JK Signs, and they were as follows: The Ex-Servicemen's Club dinner was won by Matthew "The Pyromaniac' Olney, the Billabong Bottle Shop award was won by Frank "The Reverend" Matthews, the Prendy's BP award was won by Matthew "Chooka" Cox, and the Lowes award was won by Greg "the push up king" Dreyer. The McDonalds / Griffith Coaches award was won by Myles "Mr. Trivia" Bunn.
The Reserves had a good win in a hard game against a committed opposition. The awards were: the Players' Player Mug to Danny "Mutley" Tuohey, $30 to Tony "Tank Engine" Butcher, $20 to Mark "Radar" McCormack and $10 to Marc "Bush Chook" Forster. The McDonalds / Griffith Coaches award was won by Peter "Axe" Hunt.
The netballers were defeated 44-19 but again battled hard.
Thanks to those people who contributed to the Casserole Night on Wednesday night. 
On the social scene the 1998 Best & Fairest Vote Count will be held on Sunday August 31 at the Exies Sports Club after the Tigers game, and the 1998 Presentation Night will be held on Friday October 16 at the Ex-Servicemen's Club.
