GRIFFITH NOTES: "Riverina Football Record" August 18, 1996 - No. 19

The battle for third spot continues with a thrilling draw against Collingullie. It was a see-sawing tussle with both teams appearing to be in control at various stages. This result makes the next three games even more important in the battle for 3rd position, and we must keep on winning to give ourselves a chance.
The Senior awards were $100 to Gregory "The Goalkicking Dinosaur" Collins, $50 to Matthew Olney, $30 to Brent "Mr. Cool" Harrison, and $20 to Michael "Teddy" Smith. The players player award was won by Greg Collins and kindly donated to the birthday boy, Mick Smith.
The 2nds started very well and had a terrific win, a real good team effort is the best way to describe it. The awards were $30 to Tony " Looks like a butterfly and stings like a bee" Butcher, $20 to Steven "Mr. Bandana" Serafin and $20 to Patrick "The wily old on-baller" Dempsey. The players' player award was won by Matthew "Pebbles" Kenny and the Mugs' Mug was won by Adam "Mr. Big" Baulch.
The Under 18's battled hard without too much of a result. The best players were Rodney Savage, Rodney Duncan, Michael Tull, Dwayne Ashcroft and Peter Hunt.
Birthday wishes for last week go out to Michael Smith and Andrew McCashney.
