GRIFFITH NOTES: "Riverina Football Record" May 19, 1996 - No. 6

A heart-breaking result was the only way to describe the narrow loss to Coolamon in the Seniors. There were many factors that contributed to the final result, not at least of all was the poor kicking. Let's hope this loss does not come back to haunt us later in the year.
The awards were $100 to Matthew "I am not an animal" Cox, $50 Gregory Collins, $30 Steven "Serge Silvagni" Serafin and $20 to Mark "Life without night shift work is so much better" Brown. The players' player Mug was won by Damien Scott.
The Reserves played good football after half time to run out winners. The awards were $30 to Christian "Frogger" Files, $20 Ron "Moose" Irvin and $10 Adrian "BBQ's" Pavise. The players' player Mug was won by David "Digger" Gee and the Mug's Mug by Patrick "Don't call me Patty - it's Demo" Dempsey.
The Under 18's battled hard but were defeated in another reasonably close game. Best players were Stuart Davies, Nathan Kite, Rodney Savage and Rodney Duncan.
In the netball, A Grade was a draw 35-all with Carmen Olney and Rachael Neville both performing well in an even, fast game. The players' player award winner was Carmen Olney.
In B Grade, the netballers were defeated 27--44. In a well contested game Griffith played well as a team but Coolamon were too strong. The players' player award was won by Tanya Olney.
This week's Player Profile is on Trevor Clarke.
