GRIFFITH NOTES: "Riverina Football Record" July 19, 1998 - No. 14

AFTER kicking the first 3 goals of the game against Temora we stopped until the last ten minutes. It's a pity we couldn't have played the whole game with the level of intensity we had in the last ten minutes. The result may have been something better. Now we are really at the crossroads in regard to making the finals this season, and it's time for a few more people to stand up and be counted.
The awards were donated by Wades Transport. The Ex-Servicemen's Club dinner was won by Phil "Who won the Prendys" Rowston, the Billabong Bottle Shop award was won by Dean Jamieson, the Prendys BP Petrol Voucher was won by Aaron "The Pimp" O'Keefe, and the Lowes Award went to "I was only giving mouth to mouth" Olney.
The Reserves had a good win but will need to improve. The awards were $30 and the Players' Player Mug to Myles "Country and Western" Bunn, $20 to Mick "Mad Mick from Mildura" Claydon and $10 to Owen "The old stager" Brown. The McDonalds / Griffith Coaches award were won by Steve "How's your housemate" Dalgleish and Jake Maguire.
The Under 18's played really well and had a big win. Keep at it guys and hold onto that top three position. The awards were $15 to Ben Ford, $10 to Matthew Flagg and $5 to David Dunn.
Many thanks go to those who organised and set up the Mid-Season Ball. A terrific night was had by those who attended. Tonight, is the Dutch Auction, and donations of any goods would be appreciated. Thanks also to those people who donated the casseroles after training last week. On 2nd August we have the $1000 reverse draw. See Rooster for tickets. On 9th August after the Coolamon game we have a Trivia Night at the Exies Sports Club. Entry is $5 a head.
This week's player profile is Trent Demarco - Nicknames: Trenno, Tranny, TB, DMC. Fav Pastime: Taking girls home for Robert Nascimben to pick up, trying to leave Club 500 while the boys are watching, responding in person to telephone messages.
