GRIFFITH NOTES: "Riverina Football Record" July 20, 1996 - No. 15

Another thriller at home against Wagga Tigers saw the points unfortunately go the wrong way. A couple of lapses and errors at the wrong time gave the Tiger enough breathing space to hold against fast finishing Swans.
This loss makes sure every game from now on more important in our quest for a top three finish so switch on.
The awards in the Seniors were the players' player award & $100 to Greg "The Dinosaur" Collins, $50 to Chris "That is my trip away deposit" Conlan, $30 to Dean "Just get them off with diesel" Jamieson and $20 to Scott "Training is at 6.30 tonight, isn't it?" Lord. Other good players included Damien "Powerball" Scott and Daniel "Mutley" Tuohey. It was also sad to see Matthew Cox a little "crabby" after his farewell game.
The Reserves played good team football for four quarters to run out convincing winners. It was a good team effort to win with everyone contributing. The awards were $30 to David "The feather duster man" Gee, $20 to Mark "Put it on the bar" McCormack, and $10 to Christian "Coit Rash" Files. The players' player award was won by Tony "I have to work tomorrow" Butcher and the Mugs' Mug to Gary "how much free beer do you blokes get man" Argus.
The Under 18's had plenty of blokes and put up a good effort all day. It was good to see so many Under 18's at training during the week. Even George Duncan had a smile. The best players were Michael Tull, David Dunn, Adam Sara, Paul Kite and Rodney Duncan.
I do not have a Netball report this week. Come on ladies, get your act together and get the score sheets in.
Tonight, we have the "Games and Cocktails" night at the Exies Sports Club. Semi formal dress is a must. Activities kick off at 8 pm - all welcome so please support the club.
Do not forget the Trivia night to be held on the 3rd of August. Tables of 8 required. Please see Brett McAlister with your bookings. Do not forget that the $50 deposit for those interested in going on the players trip away is due to be paid to Dippa by Sunday 27th July.
The Player Profile this week is on Don Moran.
Nickname: Duck. Favourite Pastimes: Talking while Rowdy is talking at training, feeding Bails McDonald, letting Tim Fraser look after Bails, pretending to be a builder. Ambition: To have a bigger and faster ute than mine. Something like Glen Collis or something louder than Pluggers would be great. Most Memorable Moment: Discovering a Pandoras box one year while on holidays and opening it up.
