GRIFFITH NOTES: "Riverina Football Record" April 23, 1995 - No. 3

Friday night football at the Ex-Servicemen's Oval is a great thing for football judging by the crowd that came. It differently had finals feel about it and with the gate over $5000 it proves that doing something different to promote the game differently works.
The Under 18's bounced back to soundly beat the Bullpups which pleased TB greatly. Best players were the Duncan brothers Kane and Rodney, Dean Leask, Aaron Poole and Matt Olney.
The 2nds put in a much better effort against Turvey and with more players to come back into the side it will only improve further. It was a shame we couldn't farewell David Gee and Chris Noack with a win, but that's football. Best players were Dean Jamieson in his first game for the club, Brendon Browne, Dominic Norman and Brent Hathaway. Out basketball convert Tim Whitney showed that he will be a good asset to the club.
The Seniors in a great game of football that was even up to the 10-minute mark of the last quarter, Turvey pulled away to win. The crowd expected a good game and certainly got their money's worth. Best players for Griffith were Jamie Bennett, Gary Argus, Owen Geddes, Phil Rowston, Danny Files and Brett Davis. Unfortunately, I didn't have the incentive sponsors or winners, but will let you know nest week.
Today we travel to Mango - a new side, new ground, different opposition, so let's show them what the Swans are made of and come home with three wins.
