GRIFFITH NOTES: "Riverina Football Record" August 27, 1995 - No. 20

According to some longtime supporters of the Swans the three games last Sunday against the Wagga Tigers were the best seen at the Exies for a long time.

For those supporters who saw the games the improvement in the players and the side was certainly noticeable.
The hard work on the training track and developing team cohesion will certainly help the Under 18's and Seniors in the fin series. Unfortunately, the 2nds, which have the third best percentage have had many injuries and with promotion of players to the 1sts, the lack of a steady side has cost them a finals chance.
The Under 18's certainly put it together after a bad first quarter to come away with a good win. The incentive award winners were Kevin Collins $20, Steven Serafin $15, Troy Hulm $10, with Norm Campbell, Matt Olney and Gavin Simpkin other good players.
The 2nds certainly had a red hot go only to lose the plot in the last quarter after putting up their best displays all year which again achieved another of the teams' goals for the year. The incentive award went to Ian Geddes $30, Malcolm Burke $20 and Shane Best $10 who certainly proved he still has the golden boot when moved to the forward line. The players' player award went to Richie Telfer and the coaches award to John Warden.
The 1sts went out to prove to themselves and their supporters that they could match the top sides and they achieved that. Our incentive award winners were Chris Conlan $100, Tony Butcher $50, Owen Geddes $30, and Matt Kenny $20. The players' player was Chris Conlan. Other good players were Phil Rowston, who led from the front, Don Moran and Gabby Weetra.
