GRIFFITH NOTES: "Riverina Football Record" August 30, 1992 - No. 19

The moment of truth has arrived for the club with the match against Coolamon today. It is a must win affair if we want to play at Narrandera next week and we will have to put it all together because the opponents of the day are looking for in the same direction as us.
We found out last week at Leeton that football is a winter sport with the match played probably the worst weather conditions for the season, but at least we got the points to keep the final four chances open. Gus Argus led the way again and only needs another good one to win the Milton's Gear Award and sent him back to Darwin looking like a toff. Owen Brown won the encouragement award, sponsored by ex-president Roy Agresta, from Jamie Bennett, Chris Conlan and David Gee.
In Reserve Grade, Christian Files picked up the money, and didn't shout, from Tony Butcher, Paul Woolnough and Wayne Tyndall.
The Under 18's had many good players, but none better than Troy Schmetzer, Malcolm Burke and Wayne Donetto.
Three wins in three grades will be a good way to finish the home and away season and a good way to celebrate Greg Collins 100th game.
Tonight, is the Vote Count Night for all grades and hopefully everyone will be in attendance. The Presentation Night is set down for Friday, October 9, so organise your tables and get the numbers into Kathy Bottcher as soon as possible.
Don't forget to get the boat raffle tickets back to Mary, today preferably, if not during the week.
We welcome the Coolamon players and supporters back to the rooms after the match for a drink and tucker.
