GRIFFITH NOTES: "Riverina Football Record" August 30, 1998 - No. 20

DESPITE many wasted opportunities in front of goal in the first half the Seniors were well placed to win the game at three quarter time but were overrun by a determined GGGM opposition. The players must maintain the intensity for four quarters if they want to continue on in September.

The awards were sponsored by the Griffith Past Players and Ernie Wade, and they were as follows: The Ex-Servicemen's Club Dinner was won by Matthew "Scarface" Olney, the Billabong Bottle Shop award was won by Rodney "Sleeping Beautiful" Duncan, the Prendy's BP award was won by Aaron "Dogdad" O'Keefe, and the Lowes award was won by Dean Jamieson.
The 2nds played well in fits & starts but did not put four quarter together. The awards were the Players' Player Mug to Grant "The Front Rower" Kelson, $30 Kane "one mouth and a day" Duncan and $20 to Owen "The Fountain" Brown.
The Under 18's secured third spot on the ladder with another convincing win. Keep up the good work boys as you have now given yourselves a good opportunity in September. The awards were$15 to Scott Rawle, $10 to Tom Spry and $5 to Stephen Mitchell.
Tonight the 1998 Best & Fairest Vote count for each grade will be held at the Exies Sports Club after the game. Everyone is invited to attend. Do not forget the Presentation Night will be held on Friday 16th October at the Griffith Ex-Servicemen's Club.
