SWANS CLUB NOTES: Riverina Football Record April 16, 2000 - No 2.

WELL last Saturday had all the hallmarks of being a great day for the Swan's with convincing wins starting with the Netball girls in both grades, the Under 18's and the Reserves all having good wins over the Crow's and setting the stage for the Seniors to do the same. But unfortunately, someone gave the Crow's the wrong script and came out and outplayed the Firsts in all areas of the game, which I'm sure Jon O'Dwyer and the players will learn from, to make them a better side for the rest of the season. Last week's game was proudly sponsored by Danny's Store, and we would like to thank Ross and Rick for their support to the Club.

In the Firsts, the Exies Dinner for Two will be put to good use by Mark 'Mr Romance' O'Connor, the Snuggle In voucher was won by Craig 'Bakersman' Seton who narrowly pipped Phil 'The Toolman' Rowston who came away with the Donaldson's Mitre 10 award, the Ron's Auto One award will be used by Jeff 'Pumpkin' Mickan while Michael Johns will be able to shout playlunch with the McDonalds voucher and Danny 'Can someone take the stones out of my shoe' Beriman who will be able to do his bit around the house by taking all the washing to Griffith Laundry Service who provided a very timely award.

A great start to the season by the Under 18's who combined well to easily walk away with the points. This week's awards have been won by Leigh 'The Traveller' Owen who will no doubt put the J.D's Pizza award to good use while Chris 'I'm still growing' Blanchard took out the McDonalds award with three goals and Ashley 'Rocca' Gardner booted five goals to take out the Video Est voucher. I must apologise as have no notes to give you on the Netball (and Reserves) but I promise to make up for it next week.

Today we take on Coolamon which no doubt will be a hard task at Kindra Park, but with a good week on the track I'm sure we can go home with some good wins in all grades. This week's game is sponsored by George Duncan Electrics and the club would like to thank George and Donna for their much-valued support. Go Swannies!
