SWANS CLUB NOTES: Riverina Football Record May 16, 1999 - No. 6 

THE Seniors despite a slow start showed what they can do in the second and third terms as they cruised to a comfortable win (against Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong). There were some terrific efforts on the night with everyone contributing to our first win of the season.
The awards were donated by Kevin and Mim Rowston and they were: The Players' Player Mug and Exies Dinner for two was won by 50 gamer Daniel "Fruit Fly" Tuohey with a top effort, the Snuggle Inn Towel was won by Shane "The Drooling Goose" Ruyg with a bag of 10 goals, the McDonalds award to Rodney "Sleeping Beauty" Duncan with a solid 4 quarter effort and the McNabb Fuel Award was won by Matthew "XTC" Kenny with a top second half. There were plenty of fine contributors in what was a very good and much needed win.
The Reserves certainly had their chances but could not convert in the second half and hence suffered another defeat. The signs in the first half were encouraging and a greater effort at training can only benefit us as we move into a difficult month. The Players' Player Mug and the Billabong Bottle Shop Award was won by Simon "Rowdy" Spiers with a disciplined game, the McDonalds Award was won in a welcomed return to form by Tom "Mr. laconic" Spry, and the Griffith Laundry Service Award was won by the consistent Jason "fisherman" Maskell.
The U18s bounced back with a huge win in a top team effort. The C & P Griffith Express JDs Pizza Award was won by Michael Duncan with six goals, the McDonalds Award was won by Paul McCormack, and the Lowes Award was won by U16 player Tom Gallagher.
Tonight, we head back to the Crown Hotel after the game and all players and supporters are most welcome.
This week's player profile is on a man of the moment himself, Shane Ruyg.

Nicknames: The Goose, The Dribbler, The Rug, Boxhead. Favourite pastimes: Hearing other people but not listening to them, being very loud, kicking goals, telling people how many I kick, wearing an apron, cleaning up after Danny Beriman, cooking for Shayne Driscoll, watching C7, projecting saliva into the atmosphere. Dislikes: Chasing, Greg Dreyer. Favourite Drink: Bourbon and Coke. Favourite Venue: The Elbow Room after 3am only. Ambition in life: To be able to hold a conversation after a few drinks and not having the other person need an umbrella to talk to me.
