SWANS CLUB NOTES: Riverina Football Record August 19, 2000 - No 19.

Well, this is it, the last game of the home and away series. For some it's the last game for the year and for others it's a start of a journey all players strive towards, a premiership. Good luck to the Reserves, Under 18's and both grades of Netball, who all have the chance to fulfil that dream. Thank you to Trevor 'Mousie' Harrison for sponsoring the game last week against Turvey, and as usual the weather really turned it on. We started the day well with the U18s knocking off the top of the ladder side by 10 points, but unfortunately it was the only win of the day.

Awards for the Firsts started with Elvis himself Matthew Bunn who won both the Exies Dinner for Two and the Players Mug (if we could find it). Daniel 'That's Mr. Touhey' Tuohey will be buying that someone special something nice from Snuggle-In after winning their voucher, Jeff 'Fabio' Mickan won the Donaldson's Mitre 10 award with a strong game in the backline. Phillip 'Sheedy' Rowston worked hard all day to take out the Ron's Auto One award, while baby face David Curran won the McDonalds voucher, let's hope they have stocked up. Last of all it was Simon Spiers who finally cracked a game in the Firsts to take out the Caltex Petrol voucher, one wonders how such a talent could go unnoticed for so long.

Once again it was Chris 'Oldest of old' Conlan taking out the Exies Bottle Shop award with a great mud runner 's game. Nathan Creevy stepped up to help the Reserves and won the Autobarn award for his efforts; Graham 'Sheepdog ' Foley once again showed his continued return to form by winning the McDonalds voucher. Gavin Hill will be doing his sums to see how many clothes he can get cleaned with his voucher from Griffith Laundry Service, while Michael 'Brother to The Man' Duncan won the Players Mug.

For the Under 18's it was Brett Owen showing brother Leigh how to play the game to win the J.D's Pizza award. Greg 'Rooster' Bonetti ran straight lines all day to be awarded the McDonalds voucher, while Tommy Gallagher won the Video Ezy voucher.

In the Netball, Jodie Landy battled hard to no avail in A Grades 10 goal loss, while B Grade also struggled with lacking numbers to go down by a little bit larger margin, it was again 'Mrs Consistent' Louise Files standing out in the defensive third, for the girls.

Don't forget tonight is the 'Red Swan' Awards Night on in the club after the game, as well as next Friday the vote count for the B & F will be held at the Exies Sports Club at 7.30pm. Also, we will be holding an AFL Grand Final Lunch at the Sporties starting at noon, food will be on hand for your convenience.

Today it is EWK, let's hope we can finish off with wins in all grades. Thank you to Howard Martin from Martin & Webb for sponsoring today's game - the club and players value their support. Good luck to all grades. Go Swans!
