SWANS CLUB NOTES: "The Aussie Ruler" September 25, 1966 - No. 22
In a day of really good football a couple of the favourites crashed and the scene is now set for a thrilling finale.
Narrandera proved by their defeat of Ganmain that their semi-final form was all haywire and, playing at home, they are sure to be hard to beat.
Umpire Hodgson certainly kept this game flowing and it certainly was the survival of the fittest.
Our players have trained very well in the past two weeks and are very fit and keen for today's big game, and are confident of making it three out of four against Narrandera.
Our thirds really turned it on at Coolamon last Sunday, and the big win was a great morale booster at the right time.
The two games in two weeks has worked wonders with these players, and they go out today with high hopes of winning Griffith's first premiership in 14 years.
Win, lose or draw today, the club's senior players will celebrate at the Griffith Golf Club tonight, and if there is something to celebrate, as we hope, so much the better.
