A summary of match report, with thanks
Griffith issued another reminder that they are the team to beat for this year's Riverina League premiership with a 52-point victory over Leeton-Whitton on Saturday. The Swans started with a six-goal opening quarter and never looked back as they cruised to their 11th straight victory, 13.11 (89) to 5.7 (37) at Leeton Showground.

Griffith had their running game on song as they opened up a commanding 38-point lead on the reigning premiers by half-time.

The second half was much more of dour affair, but the Swans were never troubled as they put some question marks over Leeton-Whitton's premiership credentials. While dominant, the win was soured for Griffith by a knee injury to young gun Jack Rowston.

The full extent of the injury will not be known until next week, but it did enough to put a dampener on Griffith's celebrations. "It was a real downer," Griffith coach Will Griggs said. "We won't know further until he has had an MRI, but fingers crossed it comes back as nothing too serious. "We'll just have to wait and see." Otherwise, Griggs was a happy man. "Other than that, I couldn't be happier," he said.

"Our first half was really good. We got back to our style of play, our running play, which was fantastic. "In the second half we were a bit hesitant but in saying that...you're got to be happy with a 50-point win."

James Toscan for the second consecutive week, was one of Griffith's best at fullback. He started on Daniel Muir, who went goalless for the first time this year, and then played on other Leeton forwards. Talented teenager Sam Foley had his best game for the year in the midfield, while Isaac Campbell and Ben King were others to shine in the win. Lucas Conlan kicked three goals.

Griggs was pleased to see their run return. "It was good to get our running game going and we moved the ball quickly," he said. "It was a great day so there were no excuses, and I was really happy that there was a lot of enjoyment out there, that was the best thing.

Tyh Evans was very good for the Crows across half-back, while Matt Rainbird continued his fine season with another solid performance.
