A summary of match report, with thanks
The Griffith Swans under 17s have barely missed out on a place in the Riverina Football League grand final, after being beaten by the Leeton-Whitton Crows by just two points. On the back of several impressive performances through the post-season, the Swans had high hopes heading into the sudden-death game. The game was in the balance through the first half with the Swans holding a narrow lead at the long break. They then pulled away in the third term kicking 4.3 to have a handy 17-point buffer heading into the last quarter. However, the Crows managed to kick six goals to come over the top of the red and whites to seal the last place in the grand final and crushing the premiership dreams of the Griffith players. Dillon Evans (five), Thomas West (two), Daniel Peruzzi (two), John Evans, Jordon Burley, Patrick Rose, Benjamin Tarr and Alex Blissett all kicked goals for the Swans in their narrow 93 to 91 losses.
