Media report - By Jimmy Meiklejohn: Mangoplah-CUE has returned to fifth spot courtesy of their 71-point win at home over Griffith. The Goannas are currently in an arm wrestle with Wagga Tigers over the final spot in the top five. MCUE's 18.7 (115) to 6.8 (44) victory not only secures the Goannas a crucial four points, but it also gives them a percentage advantage over the Tigers. After only just escaping with the four points the last time out against the Swans, MCUE coach Nelson Foley was understandably delighted with his side's performance. "We're very happy," Foley said. "It's no secret that this year we probably haven't been able to put a team away yet, going into today we really wanted to start strong and lead from the front all day. "We wanted to be able to put on a big score and walk away really satisfied that we did that."

Xavier Moller, Otis Irvin and Harry Collins were among the MCUE's top performers in the win over the Swans. Moller had a strong run of form and Foley praised his efforts against Griffith, noting the defender is enjoying a breakout season. "He was absolutely outstanding," he said. "He's been one of our finds this year, he just gives us so much run and he's so clean. "He's a touch player and he set us up all day, he seems to find space in a phone box, and it was terrific to see him take a game by the scruff of the neck.  "Young Otis Irvin also ended up with four goals which was really a great reward for the effort he's put into his footy this year. "He was absolutely outstanding as well."
It was a day for milestones for the club as classy midfielder Ethan Schiller celebrated his 150th first grade game for MCUE. Schiller is held in very high regard at Mangoplah Sportsground and Foley agreed it was fantastic they could get a win to celebrate a milestone. "We said to the boys during the week that you'd have to go along way across Australia to find a better footballer than Eth," he said. But I don't think you'd find a better bloke or a more loyal teammate than Eth, he's been absolutely incredible for Mango.
"It's pretty impressive that he's notched up 150 first grade games at only 27 years old, we love playing with him every week. "We're so lucky that he captains us and we get to run out behind him, it's really nice to put a win on the board today. "One of our focal points was fun, we said that Eth looks like he's having fun when he's playing footy as he's always got a smile on his face. "It was nice to create that amongst the group today."
