Media report - By Jimmy Meiklejohn: Collingullie-Wagga bounced back in a big way taking a convincing 138-point win over Griffith at Crossroads Oval. Fresh off their first defeat of the season last weekend against Coolamon, the Demons started on the front foot against the Swans booting four unanswered goals in the opening term. They kicked a further eight in the second term to head into halftime with a 76-point lead, while they were nearly 100 points up with a quarter to play. Another eight goals in a dominant final quarter showing led them to a comfortable 25.21 (171) to 5.3 (33) victory. Mitch Maguire, Nate Mooney, Tom Howard and Jake Thorpe were all influential in the Demons win while Marty Boyer finished with seven goals. Maguire has been playing some decent footy in recent weeks and Demons co-coach Nick Perryman credited his performance against Griffith. "It was probably his best game for the club," Perryman said. "He was really good and it's good to get a win after losing last week." Sixteen-year-old Hayden Donohue capped off a memorable first senior game with a pair of goals in the big win. Perryman was impressed with Donohue's efforts, noting that's it's probably not the last time the teenager will play senior football for the club. "He kicked a goal early on and everyone got around him, he's definitely got a bit of talent," he said. "I don't think this will be his last game in first grade, put it that way." Fergus Inglis and Tom Howard were among the goals for the Demons as continue to find other avenues to goal with key forward Sam Stening still on the sidelines.
