A summary of match report, with thanks
KEY forward Jacob Conlan proved how valuable he is to Griffith's premiership charge after starring in the Swans' big win over Wagga Tigers on Saturday. It was the Conlan show as Jacob and his younger brother Lucas proved too much for Tigers to handle on the way to a 15.16 (106) to 7.9 (51) victory at Robertson Oval. The two siblings kicked six goals each as the Swans put Tigers to the sword in the second half.

Jacob Conlan was only cleared back to Griffith from Canberra Demons during the week, and he showed his worth with a dominate display. He kicked six and it could have been more, but he hit the post on multiple occasions. Conlan said he is happy to be back at the Swans.

"It's good, there's a good vibe here, it's a good club and it's good to be back with the boys and get out on the park with them," Conlan said.

"It was good to get the win, it's team first. The team's up and about so it's good." Conlan, who plans to move back to Griffith shortly, said he enjoyed teaming up with his younger brother in attack. Between them, they kicked 12 of Griffith's 15 goals.

"It's good playing with the younger brother, working together with him," he said. Tigers were good early and matched it with the Swans up until half-time. The Swans then stretched the 16-point margin to 50 in a one-sided second half. Tigers went more than 45 minutes without a goal as the Conlan's kicked seven consecutive goals between them after half-time. Jack Rowston, Ben King and Sam Foley were others to shine in the win, while they picked up an injury concern with Sam Daniel limping off late in the contest.

The win completed the Swans' perfect start to the first round of the home and away season. Griffith, with eight straight victories, turn at the halfway with a one game, plus considerable percentage buffer on the chasing pack. The Swans will also enjoy five of their last eight games of the season at home. They only leave Griffith for games at Leeton, Narrandera and Collingullie, before finals start.

Griffith coach Will Griggs was happy to register another win but believes there is still plenty of room for improvement.

Tigers was good for the first half but dropped off after the main break. Nathan Cooke was their best, while Scott Pearce, Shaun Campbell and Sam McGowan battled hard. (By Matt Malone - Monday June 25, 2018).
