A summary of match report, with thanks

COOLAMON has claimed what very well could be a season-defining victory on the road after defeating Griffith by 33-points at Exies Oval.
It was far from a positive start for the Hoppers with three quick goals to the Swans for the first term seeing them get out to an early 18-point lead. However, from that point onward, it was the men in green who were in control as they booted the next seven majors to turn a three-goal deficit into a 33-pint lead.

The Swans hit back with two late goals just before the half time break to reduce the margin to just 21-points, but it would count for nothing as the Hoppers booted the only three majors in the third term to take a very handy lead into the final change.
Neither team was able to effectively hit the scoreboard early in the last quarter and although the Swans won the quarter, it was too little too late as the Hoppers ran out victors 12.10 (82) to 7.7 (49).
Hoppers coach Jake Barrett was very proud of the fight shown by his side and agreed it was a pretty special victory. "It definitely was, but in saying that I think we showed today the team we are capable of being," Barrett said.  That was really good and coming over here, Griffith are always strong at home and to get a win like that today especially against a team that only just got done by Turvey last week the boys should take a lot of confidence out of that."
Swans coach Greg Dreyer admitted it was a very poor display with some of their executions at times really costly them dearly. "Just looking at a few stats and we had 61 turnovers for the game which you can't give any team that number of turnovers and we played poorly," he said.
