A summary of match report, with thanks
The Griffith Swans will go into the bye weekend with their 13th win of the season after defeating Turvey Park by 42 points at Exies Oval on Sunday afternoon. It was a four-goal to nil final term which secured the Swans a 10.13 (73) to 4.7 (31 win in blustery conditions. Jordan Iudica was the primary goal scorer with four goals while Lucas Conlan kicked two and Heath Northey, Toby Blissett, Jacob Coonlan and Riley Irvin picked one apiece. Swans coach Will Griggs said Iudica's performance came as little surprise.
"He played midfield and kicked four goals today," he said. "There is a reason why he is on top of the Riverina votes counts. He's played fantastically again." With a lot riding on the results for the visitors, Griggs knew it was going to be a tight encounter.

"They came to play, and it was their chance to keep their final hopes alive a little bit," he said. "We knew they were going to come out firing and I think they were first to the footy for three-quarters of the day. "We put it to the boys at half time said it's not going to come from our more experienced players it's going to come from our next generation, the younger crew that is going to lead the way for the future who needs to step up now." Griggs made a couple of positional changes and was pleased with how one of his youngsters tackled the task at hand. "We moved a few things around and put young Reece Matheson in the midfield," he said. He's only 17-year-old kid, and he is a little bull who is only going to get better and better every game, so really happy with that and some of the younger blokes in the last half."

The most pleasing aspect for Griggs was his side's ability to grind out a win when Turvey Park closed to within six points late in the third term. "We can just grind out a win I guess when things aren't really working for us, just being able to find a way to get it done," he said.

The week off has come at a good time for the Swans with a couple of players nursing knocks.
