A summary of match report, with thanks
A NINE-GOAL last quarter helped Griffith to a 69-point victory over Narrandera on Saturday. The Eagles got right on top in the third quarter to give the Swans a scare before they steadied and responded to record their ninth straight victory, 20.10 (130) to 9.7 (61) at Narrandera Sportsground. The Swans were in control with a 39-point lead at half-time before Narrandera enjoyed a five-goal third term to close within three goals at one stage. The comeback forced Griffith coach Will Griggs to give his first spray and the Swans duly responded with nine goals to two in the final term. "They came at us pretty hard in the third quarter," Griggs said.

"We kind of shut up shop, our displine wasn't really good. We didn't show them as much respect as we should have, and they took advantage of it." "We responded though and it was probably the best thing for us. It shows if we don't turn up, even against the bottom teams, they will take advantage of it." Jordan Iudica kicked four goals in a best-on-ground display.

Lucas and Jacob Conlan were both strong again and kicked four goals each. Nick Witherspoon was also very good. Blake and Matt Renet played well for Narrandera, as did coach Jarred Lane. (By Matt Malone - The Area News, Monday July 2, 2018).
