GRIFFITH NOTES: "Riverina Football Record" September 1, 1996 - No. 21

It was a strange game of football. A 20-point half time lead was soon surpassed by a hungry East Wagga-Kooringal, leaving us needing a win today at Ganmain to continue on into the finals next week. It is a simple enough equation to understand - so let's make sure we get it right.
The Senior awards were $100 and the players' players award to Trevor "I refuse to answer that question on the basic that I might incriminate myself" Clarke, $50 to Tony "The Flea" Butcher, $30 to Brent "The one-armed Bandit" Harrison, and $20 to Mick "Watch out Melbourne" Smith.
The 2nds were beaten by a desperate EW-K. It is time a few of the guys started making it happen again instead of relying on someone else to do it. The awards were $30 to Malcolm "The water baby" Burke, $20 to Brent "Who was in the next room" Hathaway and $10 to Mark " Mr. Winfield Blue" McCormack. The players' player award was won by Aaron "The La Scala Kid" O'Keefe and the Mugs' Mug was won by Glen "Little Growler" Vaccari.
The Under 18's had a tremendous win and it was great to see some of the guys really enjoy it. Let's see if we can finish off the season with another win today. Best players in a good team effort were Stuart Davies, Shermin Anderson, Rodney Duncan, and Rodney Savage. Thanks to Bill Kite, Graham Olney and George Duncan for your hard work with the 18's this season. Also, thanks to all the guys who have stuck it out during the year.
On the Social scene please do not forget that the B&F vote count for each grade will be held tonight at the Mirrool Room at the main club. Can we have all players and as many supports as possible attend. Commences at 7 pm. The Presentation Night will be held on 11th October. Tickets will available soon.
Do not forget that we have the ground catering on Saturday 7th September at Narrandera. If you wish to help and have not advised Greg Wade, please do so.
This week's Player Profile is on Glen Collis.
Nicknames: Rocky, Collo. Favourite Pastime: Driving fast, loud, mean looking cars. Ambition in Life: To have a louder ute than Aaron Poole, to have a bigger bull bar than Matthew Bunn, to do more circle work than Phil Rowston and to drive faster than Rick Burdett on the way home after football or Trevor Clarke after a night out. Football Idol: Don Moran because even though he is a little long in the tooth, he is still really a rev-head at heart.
