GRIFFITH NOTES: "Riverina Football Record" July 18, 1993 - No. 12

Well revenge is sweet and the way we went about correcting those shock losses in the first round to Leeton was good to see.
The Under 18's put up a magnificent effort, considering they didn't have a full squad to pick from. The win now puts them in outright second position on the ladder. Best players were Graham Foley, Michael Reid, Brent Harrison, Matthew Kenny and Mal Burke, Glen Vaccari picked up the pizza award.
The Reserves also showed a lot more with a better team game and showed signs that with more players at training, they can only keep on improving. Best players were Chris Noack (who put his mug winning abilities to good use and kicked his two goals over and over again that night), Grant Cameron, Scott Collis, Dominic Norman and Kenny O'Driscoll. The incentive award winners which were sponsored by DeBortoli Wines were Chris Noack $50, Grant Cameron $20 and Kenny O'Driscoll $10.
The main game again started slowly for Griffith but once the side got its game together the goals came thick and fast after halftime. It was good to see Glen Garner play his best game of the season in an attacking game from the half back line. Gary Argus again had his usual mountain of possession, while Ricky Burdett and Shane Ruyg showed signs of the skill, we know they have. Mark Cameron and Mark Brown with Greg Collins all had good games. The award winners were Glen Garner who won the mug and the incentive awards went to Ricky Burdett $100, Greg Collins $50, Mark Cameron $30 and Mark Brown $20. Thanks to Shane Best for the incentive award.
The club will be holding one of its major fundraising activities for the year on August 16, which is a Friday night, so keep the day free. It will be a Games Night with a difference.
