SWANS CLUB NOTES: Riverina Football Record August 1, 1999 - No.15

ON a top day for football, we again struggled over at Ganmain, with the only shining light being the continued success of our Under 18s. The Seniors battled hard but made too many skill errors, turning the football over and giving the opposition chances to score. The Senior's award was donated by George Duncan Electrics, and we thank them for that. The Exies Dinner for Two was won by high flying utility Matthew "Bad to the Bone" Kenny with a good effort, the Snuggle Inn towel was won by ruckman David "Bangers" Dunn who never stopped trying all day, the Warren Lowry award was won by skilful wingman Rodney "Rocket" Duncan who was a strong contributor, and the McNabb Fuel award was won by hard tacking on-baller Tony "Mr Unassuming" Butcher who battled hard against the odds.

The Reserves battled hard but struggled to convert their opportunities. They were again undermanned and thanks again to those U18s who backed up. The Players' Player Mug and Billabong Bottle Shop award was won by backman Glenn "I make Matt Kenny look like Arnold Schwarznegger" Welch with a good running display out of defence, the Warren Lowry voucher was won by enigmatic defender Dominic "Joe Cool" Skehan who was steady all day in the last line of defence, and the Griffith Laundry Service voucher was won by the diminutive wingman Dom "The Freak" Sergi who was outstanding before being injured.

The Under 18s battled hard for numbers again but had another top win. Keep the effort up boys and make sure you give yourselves the best opportunity to get the double chance in the finals. The C & P Griffith Express JDs Pizza award was won by Under 16 player Luke Condon with a fine four quarter display, the Trevor Harrison towel was won by the on-baller Michael Duncan with 8 goals, and the Socks award were won by illusive forward Gary Minchin.

Do not forget about the $1000 reverse draw at the Exies Sports Club on Sunday August 15. Tickets are $20 per person which includes food and drink. See Roy Agresta for tickets.
