SWANS CLUB NOTES: Riverina Football Record September 19, 1999 - No.23

FIRSTLY, thank you to the RFL executives who made the commonsense decision to delay the start of the second semi due to the breakdown of the Griffith player's bus. Whilst we apologise for the inconvenience caused, we are grateful for the opportunity that the league gave us, culminating in a spot in the grand final today.
A terrific effort by the U18s in the second semi after a disastrous start to the day, and the players must be congratulated on the mature manner in which they handled the difficult situation. A good first half set up what was a tremendous win. Best players were defenders Simon McClure who handled the difficult conditions like a veteran, big man Jeff Harris, onballer Michael Duncan, rover Dominic Giorgi and forward Scott Rawle, in a tremendous overall team effort.
Best of luck to all the boys today and let's hope you can make the most of the opportunity you have given yourselves. It has been a tremendous effort by the boys under what has been at times difficult circumstances and all at the club are with you in your endeavours today.
To our coaches in 1999, Paul Eyles, Phillip Rowston, Mark Hildebrandt and Adrian Pavese we thank each of you for your patience under trying conditions this year. Today is another step in the rebuilding process for the club. To the players that showed loyalty this season the club thanks you for that and we hope we can reward you for that.
Finally, the club would like to thank all our sponsors, Griffith Ex-Servicemen's Club, McDonalds Griffith, WIN Television, and Austar Entertainment for the support. Also, our match sponsors we thank you for your weekly support. To all our workers and supporters, we thank you. Today is the finale and the 18s will continue to do the club proud and hopefully they will come home with the premiership.
On the social scene, the presentation night on Friday 8 October, comedian Phil Cass from the "Footy Show", and "The Midday Show", and the $1000 reverse draw on Sunday 17 October.
