GRIFFITH NOTES: "The Sou'wester" July 3, 1977 - No. 12 

By Swan: Good wins in the Firsts and Seconds on Sunday against the Magpies, but the Firsts had to pull out all stops to defeat a good team effort from the G.G. Matong boys.  Best players in the Firsts were John Vickery, Terry Bennett, Bob McKenzie, Bob Greenwood, Ian Wade and a great game from Garry Smart.

The Seconds were always in control and also won well with good games from Ian Manning, Joe Catanzariti, Norm Alexander, Darryl Collis and Bob Paterson.

Award winners were: 2nds - Dalton award Joe Catanzariti; 1sts - Esso award, John Vickery; Denim Daks award, Garry Smart.

Our game today against our near rivals Whitton and here's hoping for a good day and good games from all teams as Whiitton are showing improvement in the last couple of games.
