GRIFFITH NOTES: "The Aussie Ruler" September 8, 1968 - No. 21

By Swan: To start off - congratulations to our Third 18 on their splendid effort last Sunday, that took them on to the Preliminary Final. The most interest and enthusiasm of these lads is most gratifying, and we expect some valuable recruits from this team within the next two or three years.

Today we have two teams (first and seconds) engaged and as all players have trained on solidly, we expect them to do well - in fact we think they can both win.

Bob Spears and Bill Biron were pretty popular with their teammate's mates during last Friday's strenuous training session when a series of two man sprints the length of the oval, everyone got some extra breathing time when Spears-Biron were on.

Congratulations to Kevin Kirkpatrick (firsts) and Gary Owen (seconds) on winning the club's best and fairest awards.

Congrats go to John Foley on winning the Griffith Co-op-Ernest Hillier suit award for the First 18.

Our Club President, Pat Cudmore has asked that his thanks be conveyed to all the fans, who were at the Ex-Servicemen's Oval last Sunday, their patronage and co-operation was much appreciated.

We hope our teams can contribute their share to make today's games just as interesting and pleasing as were the good games last week.
