GRIFFITH NOTES: "The Aussie Ruler" September 22, 1968 - No. 23

By Swan: Our main interest at Turvey Park last Sunday, when for once we saw Gissing Oval looking a picture, centred in the Third 18 game in which Ganmain proved a little too big and strong for our cygnets.

The Griffith lads, however, went down giving of their best right throughout sustained enthusiasm and interest, set a splendid example for the members of our more senior teams.

After the game, coach Len Sexton announced that Denis Tyndall had won the team's best and fairest award.

Well today is the "Big Day" for our First and Seconds when they contest their respective finals.

After their impressive wins last Sunday Ariah Park-Mirrool and Ganmain will provide formidable opposition, but we have high hopes of winning both pennants although our worthy opponents will surely have the same idea.

All our players have trained very well since the semi-finals and everyone is aiming to dispel that grand final bogey everyone associates with Griffith.

To wrap a successful season, we say to the premiers in all three grades, congratulations and to the other teams - well done, better luck next year.
