Match report - Swans on Screen: The game took place on the ground of the Turvey Park club on Saturday in the presence of a large gathering of Bulldog supporters holding a 1994-95 reserve grade premiership reunion, while the Griffith travelling support was very moderate indeed. The home team supporters were very confident of vanquishing Griffith, and judging by the first match at Exies Oval between the two teams they had every reason to do so. On the other hand, the coach and players of the visiting club also felt that victory would be theirs, as they had a better team than on the former occasion and were now coming into proper form.

The fact that the Riverina Umpire Association had provided an honest umpire in Troy Mavroudis for the match prove a great relief to the away side. The game itself was at times a very average exhibition of football, nevertheless, it was none the less exciting.  Possibly a cross wind was accountable to a large reason for this, but the rough play of some of those in this direction. taking part also had its effect. To attempt a detailed description of the game would be absurd, as the match resolved itself into a scramble, the gusty wind and showers driving the play. It was thought that the team kicking with a slight wind advantage of the Rules Club end would secure a few goals, but such was not the case. Although it will be admitted the better team won, and apart from an occasional sling tackle the game was very evenly contested. (By Trevor Harrison).
