A summary of match report, with thanks
Griffith completed its most successful Riverina Football League home-and-away series when it defeated Narrandera by 100 points yesterday. The Swans finished three games ahead of their nearest rival after defeating Narrandera by 25.15 (165) to 9.11 (65) at the Ex-Servicemen's Oval. Griffith full-forward Danny Berriman completed the season with 80 goals to win the leading goal kicker after booting another five goals against Narrandera.

The Swans had to struggle hard early against Narrandera, who held a narrow lead until the 20-minute mark of the first quarter. However, once Griffith got to the front it showed its superiority despite the good intentions of Narrandera to contain it.

The Swans major ball winners, centre Phil Rowston and Rod Duncan, provided plenty of chances to the forwards, who took advantage of the situation. The "talls" Danny Beriman and Andrew Hill kicked 11 of the 25 goals and Jamie Bennett chipped in with three.

Griffith ruckman Matt Olney was again strong in many departments and Matt Bunn was solid in defence. The Thomson's Daniel and Ashley, and centre Chris Smith won many possessions for Narrandera and Paul Tait and Damon Burden finished the season with good efforts.
