Match report: Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong are the first team through to the Riverina League grand final after prevailing by 14 points in a thrilling semi-final against Collingullie-Wagga. But the Lions were certainly made to work for it as the Demons continued to amount attack after attack throughout the afternoon. GGGM coach Sam Martyn, who was a late inclusion for Tom Sase, was absolutely delighted with the performance from his side to take victory in a thrilling contest while Collingullie-Wagga co-coach Shane Lenon when addressing the loss, conceded that their opening term effort probably wasn't up to the standard required in a semi-final.

The Lions had the majority of play in the opening term, and they went into quarter time with a 17-point lead following goals to Jesse Lander, Tom Banuelos and Daniel Foley. The Demons lifted early in the second term and though goals to Steve Jolliffe and Ed Perryman they reduced the margin back to five points. GGGM hit back however with goals to Jack Sase and Tom Anderson in between an Ed Perryman goal they went into the main break with a seven-point lead. A goal to Nick Perryman early in the second half brought the Demons to within a point, but goals to Matt Hamblin and Jake Fairman saw the Lions take a 14-point buffer into the final break. Goals to Sam Stening and Nate Mooney reduced the margin to just three points at the 12-minute mark of the fourth quarter. However, the Lions found a response, firstly through Hamblin to give some breathing room before Foley put the icing on the cake with a goal in red time.  (By Jimmy Meiklejohn -Daily Advertiser).
