GRIFFITH NOTES: "Riverina Football Record" May 2, 1998 - No. 3

ON a very wet and windy day the Seniors were made to work hard by a very physical and determined EWK opposition before coming away with a 3-goal win. It was a credit to the guys the way they continued to work hard in the conditions to ensure victory. The game was sponsored by the Griffith Laundry Service and the Awards were as follows: Dinner for 2 at the Griffith Ex-Servicemen's Club and the towel to Dean "Raging Bull" Jamieson, the Billabong Bottle Shop award to the debutante Michael ''Tank' Elliott, the Prendy's Petrol award to Tony ''Golly'' Mahar and the Lowes socks to Daniel ''Off tap'' Tuohey.
The Reserves played well in first half to record a win. The awards were $30 and the Players' Player Mug to Mathew 'Manuel' Cox, $20 to Matthew ''Rowdy'' Signor, and $10 to Dominic ''Full Monty'' Skehan.
The Under 18's were defeated by a strong opposition under difficult conditions. The awards were $15 to Stephen Mitchell, $10 to Jake Maguire and $5 to Nick Maloni. I am sure the boys will bounce back this week.
The Netballers went down 50 to 21 in a much-improved effort. Keep at its girls.
Congratulations from everyone at the Club goes to Leanne and Damien Scott on the birth of a baby girl. Congratulations also goes to Scott Rawle, Matthew Waide and Michael Duncan on making the NSW Under 16 Squad.
Today's Player Profile is on Dominic Skehan - Nicknames: Schooner, Scoob, Freak, Boy George. Favourite Pastimes: Cross dressing, annoying Darren Wallett, cutting lunches, manicures. Dislikes: Porky's eyebrows, Witchy Poo. Most Memorable Moment: Doing the 'Full Monty' while visiting with Porky and Mitch. Career Ambition: To share farm at Binya.
Today's game against Temora is sponsored by Griffith Auto Screen and we thank them for that...
