 GRIFFITH NOTES: "Riverina Football Record" May 10, 1998 - No. 4 

AFTER an even first half a terrific third quarter by the Senors enabled Griffith to lead by 25 points at three quarter time in front of another large home crowd. The guys withstood a strong comeback from the opposition (Temora) in the final term to win a great game of football by 2 points.
The game was sponsored by Griffith Auto Screen and the Senior awards were as follows: The Dinner for Two at the Ex-Servicemen's Club was won by Matthew "Unwashed" Cox, the Billabong Bottle Shop Award was won by his brother Tommy "The girls' favourite" Siegert, the Prendy's BP Petrol Voucher was won by Tony "Blanket" Mahar and the Lowes Socks was won by Shane "Plugger" Ruyg. The McDonalds / Griffith Coaches award was won by Frankie "The Whisper" Matthews.
The Reserves played four quarters of football to record a big win. The awards were $30 and Players' Player Mug to Jason "Stretch" Maskell, $20 to Mark "Rowdy" McCormack and $10 to Tony "The smiling assassin" Butcher. The McDonalds / Griffith Coaches award was won by Matthew "Bluey" Signor.
The Under 18's played very well and returned to the winners list with a big win. The awards were $10 to Ben Ford, $10 to Simon McClure and $5 to Matthew Neyland. The McDonalds / Griffith Coaches Award was won by Tommy Spry.
The netball girls were defeated 80-21. Keep at it girls. On the social scene our next function is a seafood night at Yoogali on Sunday 24th May after the Coolamon game. $30 per person all you can eat, please see Dom or Larissa for bookings.
