GRIFFITH NOTES: "Riverina Football Record" May 7, 1995 - No. 5

After suffering defeat in all grades last week its back to basics to improve our levels at training and hopefully show an improvement on the football field.
The Under 18's had more scoring shots than Wagga but couldn't covert enough to eventually go down by 13 points. Best players were Matt Kenny $20, Barney Whelan $15 and Adam Sara $10. The incentive award was sponsored by The Area News, other good players were Kane Duncan and Stuart Davies.
The 2nds lost the game in one quarter of football but matched the Tigers in the other three quarters. In a game where the side could have folded and coped a pounding everyone stuck to their guns and battled the game out. With the players to come back from injury the side can only get stronger. The incentive award winners were Ian Geddes $30, Glen Collis $20, Tim Whitney $10 with Andrew McCashney winning the players play mug.
In the Senior match the side had to play catch up football all day after a lapse at the end of the first quarter and start of the second yet match Wagga until the last 10 minutes when they ran riot. The Wickham Hill Packaging incentive winners were Jamie Bennett $100, Dean 'Billy' McGowan, Dean Jamieson $30, and Scott McCutcheon $20. A well-deserved winner of the players player award was Tony Butcher. Best players were Gary Argus, Gaby Weetra and Phil Rowston.
The Netballers also lost 18-12 with the best players being Lisa Brand, Kim Barber and Rachel Dreyer.
