GRIFFITH NOTES: "Riverina Football Record" July 10, 1994 - No. 13

Our run towards the business end of the season continues with the consolidation of third position after a very solid win in the Seniors. Let's make sure we kept our winning sequence of 5 games going and achieve Fitz's aim of not losing at home in the second round.
The Under 18's had a disappointing game to go down to Narrandera and will have to improve today to take the points against Wagga. Best players were Vaccari's, Aaron Poole, Kane Duncan, Brent Harrison and Norm Campbell. The incentive award winners were Glen Vaccari, Aaron Poole and Kane Duncan which was sponsored by the Donetto Family.
The Seconds again managed to scrape together a side which battled hard but were outclassed. With a number of players returning from injury and some more numbers at training maybe the heartache that Mark's going through might ease a bit. Best players were Ron 'Moose' Irvin (Area News Incentive award), Shane Best (played like he never retired), Dom Norman, Steve Cunial. Also, special mention to Jamie Longford and Dean Leask who backed up from the U18's. Both played well.
The Firsts continued the good play from the previous week against Turvey Park and with nine straight in the first quarter it was a matter of how far .... but to Narrandera's credit they match us for the rest of the game. Best players were Shane Ruyg, 'Swampy' Davis and 'Gus' Argus who were ably assisted by the Shane Best Incentive award winners in David 'Itchy' Eichler, Graham Foley, Andrew Barber and Tim (I kicked a goal) Fraser.
The other important game played resulted in a close win by the Netball girls who won 27-21. Best players were Nicole Hathaway, Carmen Olney and Suzie Parise.
For those players and supporters who attended the Cocktail Night, thanks for the magic night, for those who didn't attend, stiff, because to see the guest appearances was worth the admission price alone. Peta Bennett (Dolly Parton eat your heart out) and 'Itchy Finger' Eichler who played the guitar better than he plays football.

This week it's the Tigers, so let's put them back in the cage!
