GRIFFITH NOTES: "Riverina Football Record" April 19, 1997 - No. 3 

Sincere condolences from all the players, members and officials of the Griffith Australian Football Club go to the Coolamon Rovers Football Club on the sad news of the passing away of one of your Under 18 players as a result of a motor accident last Friday night. All our thoughts are with the family of the deceased.
Our Seniors started to play good football and ran out convincing winners. Whilst we had many winners all over the ground the awards went as follows, $130 and the players' player Mug to Matthew "Jailbird" Kenny, $70 to Gary "Man" Argus, $50 to Jason "The Scottish Croat" Magoci, $30 to Trevor "I'll be back in a minute" Clarke and $20 to Wayne "I'm going to the chapel" Bodycott. Other good players included Anthony Pavey and Marcus Simpson. Coaches award to Jason Magoci.
The 2nds had a lacklustre win and need to work a little harder at training and during games. The awards were $30 and the players' player Mug to Malcolm "Mallee" Burke, and the Mugs' Mug to Rodney "Speedy Gonzales" Savage and the $10 to Ray "The Model" Willis. Other good players included Matthew "sit on my face" Bunn and Glen "Am I glad he went home" Smith. The coaches award went to Mark McCormack. 
Due to the unfortunate accident at Coolamon, the Coolamon Under 18's forfeited. 
I have been given no details on the Netball other than both sides having been defeated A Grade 19-36 and B Grade 16-34.
Tonight, Peter Jones will be playing at Mirrool Room 3 at the Ex-Servicemen's Club, so let's make sure everyone gets back there after the game and make it a top night.
On a sadder note, I would like to send condolences from the Club to Viv Nancarrow and Family on the passing of longtime supporter of the Swans, Don Nancarrow after a long illness. Our thoughts are with you at this time.
