GRIFFITH NOTES: "Riverina Football Record" July 20, 1997 - No. 16

In a lack lustre affair the main game was marred by inaccurate kicking in front of goals by us. Even though we got the points the guys will have to improve on the effort in the very important next few weeks.
The non-contracted players award was $130 to Wayne ''Spock'' Bodycott, $70 to Trevor ''Hunting'' Clarke, $50 Brendan ''Smooth'' Giason, $30 to Greg ''Whale'' Collins and $20 to Ray ''Jimmy'' Willis. Other good players included Marcus ''Punter'' Simpson.
The 2nds had a real struggle to break away from a determined Coolamon. The awards were $30 to Patrick ''Cranky'' Dempsey, $20 to Mark ''Buckets'' Cameron ad $10 to Brent "Tiny" Hathaway. Players' Player award went to Dominic ''Skoo'' Skehan and the Mugs' Mug went to Chris ''Speed'' Conlan.
In a top game the Under 18's had a win off the last kick of the day to cement a position in the top five, even give themselves a chance of finishing in the top three. Plenty of hard work needed from now on guys. The best players were Tom Spry, Rodney Duncan, Peter Hunt, Jake Kearney and Michael Tull.
In the Netball, the A Grade team had a well-deserved win, whilst B Grade were defeated.
Everyone at the club wishes Jamie Bennett best of luck in his recovery from the unfortunate injury he sustained last weekend.
This week we are spending sixty seconds with Adam Baulch.
