GRIFFITH NOTES: "Riverina Football Record" April 28, 2001 - No. 4

A wet and cold day faced the club for its first home game for the season, last week. The club almost came through with the complete five wins with the Seniors just running out of time for an amazing comeback.
The Seniors played at probably the wildest time of the day with lightening in the background and plenty of rain. This led to a very heavy ball and plenty of battle on the ground. The conditions didn't suit big men, but Dave "Jelly Belly" Curran showed how good he is and managed to take home the Exies Dinner for two. The coach also showed what he was capable and put in one of the best games we have seen him play. Jon "Video King" O'Dwyer will be able to dry himself after a big day on the couch with the Snuggle-In towel. Jamie "Jimbob" Bennett also had a great game and will get some great DYI gear from Donaldson's Mitre 10 with his award. The Ron's Auto One award went to Rod "am 21" Duncan, and Phil "There's only one...." Rowston will be happy with his performance and better still the chance to have some McDonalds with his voucher. Jeff "Pumpkin Head" Mickan won't have any excuses for turning up late to training on time this week, with his fuel from Fred & Rod McNabb Caltex. To be continued...
