 GRIFFITH NOTES: "Riverina Football Record" August 30, 1997 - No. 22 

Another close game in the Seniors against GGGM with Griffith not capitalising on their use of the wind in the final quarter being the main difference. The non-contract players awards were $130 to Danny "Babba" Baxter, $70 to Chris "Phantom" Conlan, $50 Trevor "Slug" Clarke, $30 to Damien "Superboot" Scott and $20 to Greg "Plugger" Collins. Other good players included Anthony "Pidgeon" Pavey.
The Reserves bounced back to win the game well. The Bertoldos Bakery best players awards were $30 to Kane "Sugar" Duncan, $20 to Glenn "Fidget" Vaccari and $10 to Matthew "Happy" Hosking. The players' player award went to Dominic "Skane" Skehan and the Mugs' Mug went to Trent "Duck" Demarco. The Griffith Coaches award was won by Mark "Hard Yakka" Cameron. 
The Under 18's had a good win and need to win again today to finish in the top five. The best players were Luke Irons, Matthew Neyland, Michael Tull, David Dunn and Michael Elliott.
On the Social news do not forget the Best & Fairest vote count this Saturday night at the Mirrool Room at the Ex-Servicemen's Club. $10 per head ($5 for Under 18s) includes food. Semi formal dress required, and the night will commence at about 7pm.
