SWANS CLUB NOTES: Riverina Football Record May 6, 2000 - No 5.

Last week we travelled to sunny Nixon Park at Temora to take on a side that are always hard to beat at home no matter what position they are on the ladder. In what was not a great day to be a spectator due to the windy conditions dragging the skills of both sides down, we came away with wins in all grades including the netballers who also won both grades over the much fancied Temora sides. A big thank you to Kevin & Mim Rowston who sponsored the game last weekend which the Club appreciates greatly.
Starting with the Netball, A Grade saw Megan Rawle edge out Robyn Overs for the 'Best on Court' while Karen Conlan put up a solid performance in as always. B Grade also had a great win with Kristen Ireland following closely behind.
First Grade awards started with Jason 'Beaver' Malone who will dine out with the Exies Dinner for Two, Phil Rowston will be able to give Kev & Mim a lovely set of towels as he notches up another Snuggle-In voucher, Mark 'Sav-Occa' O'Connor will finally be able to purchase the new hammer & chisel with the Donaldson's Mitre 10 award, while Dean ' I wish Maxy would finish that tractor work' Jamieson will be using the Ron's Auto One award to get his ute running perfectly. Trent 'I'm not Scotty's little brother' Bradley will be lining up Big Mac's for Hilly, with the McDonalds voucher. The Caltex Petrol voucher went to first game youngster Chris 'We will have to think of a nickname' Blanchard, Kaine 'Sensational' Malone rounded off the awards with the Players Mug after a sensational day setting up goals from the half back line.
In Reserve Grade, Grant Lamont will be supplying drinks for the boys with the Billabong Bottle Shop voucher, while Dale Dridan is starting to settle into the stye of footy with a solid game to take out the Autobarn award. Gavin Hill will be shouting his flatmates with the McDonalds award. David 'Bangers' Dunn took out the Griffith Laundry Service  voucher, as did the old man Greg 'Grumpy No. 1' Dreyer showed the younger lads he still knew the way to the Area Hotel on a Saturday night, when he was given the Players Mug.
Under 18's worked hard for a good win, with some inspirational words by fill in coach Shayne Driscoll which I'm sure the boys enjoyed. Brett Owen will be happy brother Leigh is at boarding school as he will have plenty of pizza to eat with the J.D's Party Pizza award, while Adam Boag will pay a visit with a voucher in hand. Last but not least, Simon 'Wallaby' McClure won the Video Ezy award with a strong game.
This week we make the long trek to Wagga to take on the Tigers in what I'm sure will be hard and tough in all grades, but one I'm sure we can quite easily come away with. Bidgee Marine/Mitchell Ag Parts are this week's sponsor, and the Club would like to thank Keith & Helen for their much-valued support.
Don't forget back at the Exies-on-Burrell for a drink after the drive home. Good luck let's get three wins in a row.
