SWANS CLUB NOTES: Riverina Football Record August 6, 2000 - No 17.

TODAY we take on GGGM in a day sponsored by Fred Cole P/L, the club and players would like to thank Ken Wells & Staff for their support. Coming events: An AFL Grand Final Day Lunch at the Exies Sports Club; the Reverse Draw will then follow-on Sept 10; also, our Presentation Night is on Friday, October 6. The 'Red Swan' Awards night will be held after the EWK game, categories can be found on the notice board next to the coffee machine in the Sporties Club and your nominations can be given to Grant Kelson. The Club B&F Vote Count will be held at the Sporties on Friday, August 25 at 8 p.m. Meals available. Everyone is welcome.

Last week started well with the Under 18's recording one of the largest winning margins for a long time kicking 18.15 to just 1.3. Daniel Best made a return to form taking out the J.D's Pizza award, while Ashley Gardner booted 5 goals to be awarded the McDonalds voucher. Jamie Kite was another to make a welcome return to form to take home the Video Ezy voucher.

Both A & B Grade Netballers chalked up another win even with a shortage of players.

It was then over to the Reserves who also had a big win kicking 22.12 to just 0.2 in workman like style fashion. Pagan, sorry I mean Adrian would have been pleased with the win as a couple of his regular players were asked to step up to Firsts due to injuries, Simon Spiers was again outstanding on the day giving the crowd a great display of hard running and polished foot skills to be awarded the Griffith Exies Bottle Shop voucher, Michael 'Soon to be The Man' Duncan worked hard all day to take out the Autobarn award, while Greg 'Grumpy' Dreyer threw away the walking stick to be awarded the McDonalds voucher. Graham Male ran all day to take out the Griffith Laundry Service voucher, while the Chris Conlan's new light weight walking frame improved his game even further to be nominated the Players Mug.

First Grade started like a house on fire in the first quarter, but someone forgot to add more wood as they slowly were dragged down into a very unattractive game. Rodney 'The Man' Duncan never stopped all day taking out the Exies Dinner for Two as well as the Players Mug, while Luke Condon had a great to be awarded the Snuggle-In voucher, Jon O'Dwyer was again outstanding to take out the Donaldson's Mitre 10 voucher, just edging out Jason 'Beaver' Malone who settled for the Ron's Auto One award. McDonalds will receive a visit by the youthful Damien Scott after winning their award, and last of all Jeff 'Pumpkin' Mickan worked hard all day to take home the Caltex Petrol voucher.

Thank you again to Bob & Brenda Spears for sponsoring the day's events, which both the club and the players appreciate greatly. Good luck to Cassandra Malone who is our Miss RFL entrant this year and anyone who is interested in going to the RFL Vote Count to be held on September 5, please see Ffiona Beverley to book a seat on the bus, tickets for the night are $25 & bus fare.

Don't forget everyone is welcome to join he players and committee for drinks in the club after the game. Also, anyone who would like to buy a Griffith Swans shirt like the players are wearing please see Damien or Leanne Scott as there are still some left. Good luck to all grades today, let's keep the winning feeling going. Go Swans!!
