SWANS CLUB NOTES: Riverina Football Record June 6, 1999 - No. 9

On a miserable day the Seniors never really got going after quarter time against (Wagga Tigers) and were comfortably defeated in wet and heavy conditions. We had chances early, however the game was over at half time. The boys fought it out well and the endeavour shown by some of the players was outstanding. The awards were sponsored by Trevor Harrison, and we thank him for that. The Exies Dinner was won by Paul "Blocker" Brasier with a solid game in defense, the Snuggle Inn towel was won by youngster Paul "No frills" Kite, the Warren Lowry award was won by ruckman Aaron "Plugger" Taylor, and the McNabb Fuel award was won by stout defender Greg "Grumpy" Dreyer.

The Reserves showed plenty of spirit with 17 players but were well beaten after the first quarter blow out. The Billabong Bottleshop award was won by on-baller Nick "Mr. Punctuality" Donnellon, the Warren Lowry voucher was won by the courageous Corey "Junkyard dog" Frater, and the Griffith Laundry Service was won by defender Luke "Heinzy" Irons. Many thanks to the Under 18s that backed up.

The Under 18's were undermanned but battled hard in the wet to be just defeated. It was a terrific effort by the youngsters in difficult conditions. The C & P Express JDs Pizza award was won by Under 16s player Luke Condon, the Trevor Harrison towel was won by another youngster with a big future in Dom Giorgi and the Lowes Sox was won by the dasher Paul Reed.

This week's Player Profile is on hard running defender Grant Kelson.
